Did Not Want to Get Out of Bed

Once in a while, I fight restless legs syndrome. It's actually really painful. What happens is my legs feel like they have to move. There is no other option. If I don't move them the urge continues until they move really without my doing anything. It's not fun.

That's what happened last night. My legs were horribly restless. It was nearly 3 in the morning before they settled down enough I could get some sleep. Which really sucked cause when the alarm went off at 7 I could barely move.

I got up to use the restroom just before 8 and realized the time. When I came back to bed, Music Man asked me if was ready to get up and go to the gym. I said something along the lines of, "Sure". I think I was still asleep.

I drug my sleepy butt up, went to the gym, went to the grocery store and was still back home in time for Miss Goofy to go to work at 10:30.

That said, I need a nap.

I did finish putting together my fitness journal but it's hot so I have the house closed up, the lights off, which means it's dark in my bedroom and I can't take pictures right now. You might be asking why I don't turn on the light and take the pictures. To those who ask, I say, "Cause it's hot!" Then I probably call you something naughty and go back to pretending it's not nearly 80 in my bedroom.

So, that's why I'm cranky today, just in case you're wondering.

Go for a walk, but wait till it's not 100.

Hormones

I had planned to show my fitness journal this week. Then I remembered I don't have it in a binder yet. So I'm working on stuff without one for now. As soon as I get a binder I'll take pictures and post them.

In the meantime, my hormones have me bloated and I've gained back another pound. Sort of annoying but also something I can work on.

I've changed my step goal a little too. My Fitbit has a feature where it will remind you to walk for 250 steps. So I have mine set to nag me from ten in the morning until four in the afternoon. Oh and I have an alarm set for every hour in there so I check my step count, make a note of it, then I do 500 steps. I was able to meet the challenge for today. We'll see how it goes for the rest of the week.

I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday for my yearly physical. We'll see how that goes. I'm gonna guess they say I need to lose weight.

Have a great week! Go take a walk, the weather is gorgeous.

Itchy Fever

I have had sensitive skin my entire life. I have known I have sensitive skin my entire life. I have fought sensitive skin my entire life. (I swear I have a point.) My mother used to buy baby laundry detergent for me. That's how bad it was.

I finally found a detergent (that's wasn't designed for infants) that doesn't bother my skin. I've used it fairly religiously most of my adult life. It's the only one that doesn't irritate my skin and make me break out in a rash.

When I was in Oklahoma, I could use another brand but I had to be careful. The water there was different. It's something about the water and the soap that gets to me.

Recently, I was shopping at my local discount mart and they didn't have the laundry detergent I normally buy. I was very low on detergent and really needed to get some.  So, the brand I buy but with an additional ingredient was available. I thought to myself, "It's been years. I'm sure it will be fine. You need detergent, this is the same brand. Just get it."

I should have ignored that voice and bought it somewhere else. Or gone back on another day.

It started off simply enough. I felt a little itchy. I live in a very dry climate so that's not unusual. I really need to drink more water and figured it was just dry skin. After a couple of days, I started seeing a rash. Just on my arms at first. Then my legs, my chest, a little on my stomach. Oh and my back. It's been awful.

I realized what had happened and quit using that soap. I've switched back to my regular one. I'm still a little itchy at times though, cause the thing is, once I've broken out, it takes a while to get it out of my system. So here's hoping drinking a ton of water helps cause sweating from a workout, makes the itch neigh on unbearable. Even after I shower.

All of that to say, I gained another .8 of a pound and I haven't been walking or wearing my Fitbit, cause it sits right on a particularly itchy spot and irritates it even more.

So, I'm updating my step count, but it's not going to be very high and that's the reason why. I'm hoping this week to be able to walk more. We'll see.

Have a great week and drink plenty of water!
